Advanced divers can literally go with the flow at mile 2.3 of step width and see shark Garuae hammerhead, whitetips, manta rays and the number of marble. Intermediate divers can be experienced, less challenging but equally rewarding in Tumakohua Pass.

Exceptionally visibility (generally over 100 feet), and stimulating currents and large numbers of sharks, rays, turtles, eels, tuna, barraduca and dolphins, divers are in the thrill of a lifetime. The Pacific Ocean is connected with the huge lagoon of Rangiroa in Avatoru and Tiputa step by step, creating a flow of input and leading to an incredibly high concentration of marine life. This area is also one of the best places to observe the great hammerhead sharks and a large number gray reef shark.
