Scuba excursions are a one day “quickie” training in the bare basics. They usually take you to a fairly shallow (30 feet or less) area for you to try out.

Like anything, it seems hard at first with so much to remember, but it gets easier the more you do it. I would recommend getting certified BEFORE you go, that way you can actually enjoy it.

I’m not a fan of the “one day” scuba resort trips – there’s a lot of equipment stuff they throw at you, and they’re usually teaching 20 people at once, and usually in a very short period of time.
