There is LOADS to do on the gold coast… my suggestion is to go on a day cruise..my pick is SeaWorld Cruises because I used to work there and I know how fantastic it is. Youll get to know heaps about the area and its a beautiful boat. If you have children then i would reccomend theme parks like Sea World and Wet n Wild. Dreamworld and Movie World are aimed more at adults and older children (say,10).

The Gold Coast is not known for its snorkelling or diving like say, the whitsundays are, but you definately CAN do it and several companies offer guided trips. Something really fun is parasailing and jetboating if youre a bit of a thrillseeker. Otherwise the beaches are beautiful and relaxing.

The major shopping centre is called Pacific Fair – easy to get to from Surfers by bus – spare a whole day to see it all, its massive. Dont go thursday nights or you will get overrun with bratty teenagers.

As for clubs and pubs… i would steer clear of Surfers Paradise. Catch a taxi or a bus to Broadbeach (about 5-7 mins in a cab). It has AMAZING alfresco restaurants and trendy, busy bars without the messyness of Surfers (unless youre looking for that). My pick is a place called Alto for dinner – it then turns into a club with a live DJ later on. Also, Broadbeach has the casino within walking distance from the restaurant/bar precint.

If all else fails.. ask a local! We are a friendly bunch and most will love to offer their suggestions.
