I agree with the asker. The average salary in some of those countries is 1/4 of our salary in America, yet they have the nerve to charge you 2 times what they make in a day to rent a kayak. Uh huh…..I don’t think so, my friend. If you make $20 a day, then I should be charged about $5 to rent a kayak, not $30 or $40. That’s simply outrageous. That’s like charging someone in the U.S. $200 to rent a kayak.
And, Neil, I’ll be the one to answer your question about how much scuba diving in Honduras should cost— $30 for an entire day. THAT is in proportion to their salaries. The locals should charge in proportion to THEIR salary, not MINE.
