Padi Scuba Diver Certification

is PADI certification the same as PADI license?

i am about to enroll in scuba diving to get certified in open water dives. Is it the same as saying I will be a licensed diver?

Yes, the two terms are equivalent.

In the US and Caribbean at least, “certified diver” is the more common term. Regardless of whether the certification is through PADI or one of the many other scuba training agencies.

The diver’s “license” is normally referred to as a certification card or “C-card”.
