Lost Padi card from 28 years ago, how do I replace it?

I took Padi courxe 28 yrs ago. Only dived a few times. Now I want to dive again. Dive shop is gone, and I can remember instructors name. Is it possible to replace the card? Without taking the course again? How would I do it::?

Susan, I was in the same situation about 10 years ago. I had gotten my C-card in 1975 and dived a tiny bit. And lost it. You could contact PADI (Pay All Dollars Immediately)but realistically, you should take the Open Water class again. I did and I was amazed how much I had forgotten and how much the equipment had changed.

So I suggest recertifying. Without your old card, you may not be able to just take a refresher course – they probably want the whole ball of wax. And there is the safety issue…
