How To Become A Scuba Diver

Don’t know about the pilot questions but I am a diving instructor in the UK.

In the UK unless you own a dive shop you are pretty much on a hiding to nothing with regards to making money at it. I do it as a hobby because of this.

Being a diving instructor is more about a lifestyle. I’ve met many that earn a reasonable amount – enough to live fairly comfortably – but diving is all they do (and want to do), in sunny climates such as Mexico, Thailand, Egypt etc

I can highly recommend it from either perspective but as you’re young I’d go for the degree first, learning to dive whilst you’re at Uni (or before) then maybe travel and teach diving through your 20′s and 30′s and see how it goes – you never know you may end up being able to do it all your life.
